Izadkhast Castle, world’s first flat

Izadkhast Castle is an ancient Iranian monument located in Fars Province dating back to the Sassanid Empire.

Known as the world’s first flat, the castle is located seven kilometers north of Izadkhast city.

It is the second biggest brick monument of the world after Arg-e Bam, or the Bam Citadel in Kerman Province.

This historical fortress is known as one of the most impenetrable ancient fortresses in Iran; because the three sides of the castle are surrounded by precipices and it is only possible to enter it from one direction.
